Trumark Urban Debuts Cutting-Edge Residential Development in the Mission
Trumark Urban unveils its latest development set to open in summer 2016, located in the heart of San Francisco’s flourishing Mission District. Rowan is designed to strike a chord of continuity with the industrial past of the Mission and celebrate its urban, transit-oriented future.
“We’re very excited to announce Rowan. Not only will it provide dense, high-quality housing, but it will be vital to the continued growth and maturity of the Mission. We’re thrilled to be a driving force of development as the area moves towards a promising future,” says Trumark Urban Managing Director Arden Hearing.
Rowan has been designed by Handel Architects with a bold aesthetic, featuring an external, cast-in-place concrete structure in a diagonal grid. “This building is unlike any other residential building in San Francisco,” said Glenn Rescalvo FAIA, a Partner at Handel Architects and the lead designer of Rowan. “Using an exoskeleton allows for a column-free interior with open floor plans and floor-to-ceiling windows. This lets in natural light and creates clean, uninterrupted internal layouts.” Rowan reshapes the surrounding city landscape and therefore offers residents the unique chance to own a part of San Francisco’s modern architectural history.
The development’s striking design is in keeping with the neighborhood’s historic “art” of industrial construction. Rowan is a 70-residence, mixed-use residential building, walking distance to bars and breweries, restaurants, retail and offices in the Mission, Potrero Hill and SOMA neighborhoods. In addition to an eclectic mix of dining and entertainment venues, the area is famous for its sunny weather and stunning city views from its crest. With easy access to public transportation, freeways, and located steps from Franklin Square Park, Rowan residents will enjoy the best life urban San Francisco has to offer.
A $200,000 commitment from Trumark Urban, plus a percentage of homeowner’s HOA fees, which together amount to over $1,000,000 over 50 years, will go toward the future care, maintenance and development of Franklin Square Park. A beloved recreational space in the Inner Mission, Franklin Square Park is celebrating the tenth year of a revitalization program that has resulted in new turf soccer fields, state-of-the-art, multi-age playground and quarterly park clean ups organized by Trumark Urban.
Rowan residents will have access to a variety of modern and unique amenities. Each residence has high-speed fiber-connections as well as Nest Learning Thermostats. Domus & Domus Italian cabinetry, beautiful wood floors that provide warm contrast and appliances by Bertazzoni and Bosch are also included. There is ample bike storage, repair space, and parking available in the fully automated garage. A landscaped terrace at the second floor allows space for reflection and reconnection with a sculptural water feature by artist D. Yoshikawa Wright, a relaxing garden and natural wood decking. The landscaped roof terrace offers a vibrant 3,200 square foot communal space with gas barbecues, vertical gardens and stunning views of the downtown skyline and Twin Peaks. Sales will open early fall 2016 with building completion anticipated late fall 2016. Rowan is located at 338 Potrero Avenue. Learn more at www.rowansf.com.
