Flashy Condos at Pacific Heights’ 2121 Webster Break Ground

Most new condo projects in San Francisco are located somewhere around SoMa or Mission Bay. It’s rare that an area like Pacific Heights gets a sizable new building project, so the conversion of the neighborhood’s former University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry at 2121 Webster Street into 76 new residences is a big deal. The condos, which officially began construction this afternoon, are being designed by Handel Architects (the designers responsible for mid-Market’s NEMA) and developed by Trumark Urban. They will feature 12-to-14-foot ceilings and views across the city. On the site of the dentistry school’s old parking lot there will be 10 new three-bedroom townhomes.

The project converts the old dentistry school by adding two new floors to the existing eight. The building’s new residents will have access to a host of amenities, including a fitness center complete with a yoga garden, numerous green spaces and terraces, a concierge service, a residents’ lounge, and a business lounge with a suite for overnight guests. The lobbies will be designed “in the spirit of the Bulgari hotels in London and Milan and the Setai in Miami and New York,” according to the flackbabble. When the building is complete in early 2016, it will include 10 one-bedrooms, 23 two-bedrooms, 27 three-bedrooms, 2 four-bedrooms, 4 penthouses, and the 10 townhomes. The sales office is slated to open next summer. Expect lots of buzz around this one.
